With a low, heavy growl rumbling in the back of his throat, Hortus slowly made his way through the open mudflats. His flat feet sunk at least a half a foot into the soft ground, leaving an almost perfect impression of his foot in its place. He wasn't sure how long he had been wandering around like this, but he didn't really care. The only thing that was on his mind was his next meal. His stomach grumbled and churned with hunger, wanting the sweet taste of blood. Lazily letting his lower jaw hang slightly, he took in deep, slow breaths through his mouth, enjoying the moist, humid air that brushed against his tongue. Quickly clipping his teeth together, the albertosaurus swung his head around as something faintly moved in the corner of his eyes. His eye sight might not have been the greatest, but be could see enough to know what was around him. Raising his head slightly, Hortus looked around in hopes to find whatever it was that had caught his eye in the first place.
Shifting on his feet, his claws made deep markings in the muddy ground, his eyes searching for the unknown creature. He knew how dangerous and deadly the world could be, and he had to stay on his guard. Said creature could've just been something simple and harmless, or it could be a terrible threat. His muscles tightened and relaxed over and over again as he prepared himself to fight or stay. But, as a small family of seagulls came into view, Hortus allowed himself to relax somewhat. Giving a faint grunt, the dark-skinned creature turned his head back around, clenching and unclenching his small, two-finger hands before he continued on his way, his yellow eyes searching for something worthy enough to eat.
