Site-Wide Plot: The Coming of the Pure

The land of Cretassia was never one filled with dramatic occurrences. Major wars were the stuff of legends, and an uneasy sort of peace had fallen over the land. Creatures fed upon other creatures, some herds and packs fought for territory, and that was the extent of the rivalry.

However, an event struck that set the scale of odd peace off its tender balance. An earthquake hit with incredible force. Lands tumbled, creatures were killed, grounds cracked. And at the edge of Tannidale, something strange was noticed. A landslide had uncovered something hidden beneath, a gaping hole in the side of Tannidale's cliffside. The curious ventured down into the dark cavern.
Originally, it was simply assumed to be a part of Basalatius's vast underground network, however, it seemed that this cavern lead elsewhere. Following the large tunnels, explorers found themselves faced with a new land.

The caverns had lead to their mythical land of Tethys. The island everyone could see off in the distance, but the island that no one could reach. Though the sky and sea dwellers had access, they was never much interaction between them and the land creatures, so Tethys remained a mystery.
Referred to as the New Lands in order to distinguish from the Old Lands of Basalatius and Tannidale, the island Tethys appeared to be a bit desolate at first glance. It was soon discovered that the island's main predatory inhabitants were the guanlong, and there was one major pack on Tethys. This was the Illuminati of the Pure. The high and exclusive pack pushed its way into new land, crossing the tunnels and entering Tannidale.
And the destruction began.

The Illuminati of the Pure were elitists, convinced they were better than the rest, convinced that they were pure. And to keep their purity, they were careful of what they ate. They saw it as a sin, as a disgusting thing, to eat herbivores. So they ate other carnivores, and other guanlongs that didn't make it into their pack.
This act of cannibalism took the creatures of Basalatius and Tannidale by horrifying surprise, but the horror didn't quite end there. The Illuminati of the Pure announced that they would begin their conquest of the Old Lands. They were purging the land of other, impure dinosaurs. Killing herbivores and leaving their corpses untouched, leaving them to rot, deemed too impure to be eaten.
Of course, the creatures of the Old Land didn't give up without a fight, and so the first war in ages began. It's everyone against the Illuminati, and the Illuminati against everyone.
