Appearance:

Hortus is a well built body, his legs strong and powerful with well developed muscles and thick, heavy bones. His rough skin is a dark brownish-red color and a lighter red color on his underside. Running down his back are dark brown, almost black colored splotches, positioned randomly along his spine all the way down to the tip of his tail. The area around his eyes is also darkened, giving it a sort of hollowed look to his eyes. His eyes are a dark yellow color with flecks of brown around his pupil.

Personality:

Hortus doesn't exactly have the greatest of personalities around, mostly being a bit of a grouch around others. He prefers to be alone at most times, but on occasion he does enjoy the company of another. He's a bit sensitive at times, taking jokes and small teases a bit too personal and can get angered in that way. That is another issue that usually keeps others a good distance from him. His temper can get the better of him at times, and when it does, he can get extremely aggressive and may even lash out at whoever had angered him. but, if you stay on his good side, he can be a trustworthy friend and also a good ally to have when you're stuck in a fight.

Past:

Hortus was raised by his parents with his brother and sister, Lorr and Breck. He had a relatively normal childhood, depending on his parents for food and protecting until he reached the age of one. By then, his brother Lorr had unfortunately passed, not surviving an attack by a virus, growing severely sick at his young age. As he grew older, his father began to teach him the importance of maintaining his own territory and of other important things that males of his kind found to be top priority. But, that fatherly bond he had developed at this young age quickly vanished as he matured, his father chasing him out of his home territory in fear that Hortus would try to take over.

Driven away from his family, Hortus used what he had learned from his parents to make a living as best as he could. It took awhile for him to find an area to claim as his own territory, having to fight for it with two other similarly built albertosuarauses. After a few years on his own, he found a female to claim as his own, fathering a small group of hatchlings, having three females and one male in the litter. But, an unfortunate even happen in his life as a drought dried up the land, leaving them without water and hardly any food. His hatchlings didn't survive and neither did his mate. Filled with remorse for this life-crushing event, he traveled away from his old territory, wandering the land in search for something to bring back his sense of living, though he has yet to find such a thing.
